Isaac Mizrahi will be honored at this year’s Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons (ARF) Bow Wow Meow Ball for his love of animals and support of the foundation on Saturday, August 17. Guests will enjoy cocktails followed by a dinner catered by Olivier Cheng. The party will continue into the night with music by Peter Duchin Orchestra. Over 400 guests from New York and the Hamptons are expected to attend. All proceeds will benefit ARF, a regional leader in New York for the rescue and adoption of cats and dogs. The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. with cocktails and dinner and dancing will commence at 8:00 p.m.
“We are so thrilled to be able to honor Isaac Mizrahi with our Champion of Animals Award! He has been so generous to ARF over the years and so deserving of this recognition,” remarked Jamie Berger of ARF.
Mizrahi is a strong advocate for ARF’s mission and since October 2010 he has championed ARF’s annual Stroll to the Sea Dog Walk. He has created original artwork for the Dog Walk’s invitations and beloved t-shirts. Mizrahi and his husband Arnold have two rescue dogs and you can often find them volunteering at ARF.
The animals at ARF are brought from high kill shelters from across the country and individuals who can no longer care for their pets. They will take in over 1,400 dogs and cats by the end of 2019, all while providing full medical care, including spaying and neutering. Once medically evaluated and socialization, the dogs and cats are made available in their Adoption Center. ARF has rescued more than 28,000 cats and dogs since its beginning. Today, the animals remain in loving homes.
It wouldn’t be a party without the dogs and cats of ARF, so guests of the Bow Wow Meow Ball should expect the furry faces. The evening is all about raising funds for this vital organization and its mission.
Additionally, there will be a live auction, a silent auction featuring one-of-a-kind luxury items, unique arfITECTURE cat and dog houses which are works of art created by Donna Karan, Gabby Karan de Felice, Robert Wilson, and Steven Gambrell, along with top architects and builders. The online auction will be made available on charitybuzz.com.
