While Children's Museum of the East End
) typically caters to the little ones, on Saturday, June 29 the grown-ups will have the chance to enjoy the Bridgehampton-based Museum during CMEE's Summer Fête fundraiser.
"I look forward to welcoming grown-ups to the Children's Museum for a truly one-of-a-kind fundraiser here in the Hamptons," said Steve Long
, the Museum's President.
From 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. there will be a festive cocktail reception, with a dance party, entertaining grown-up varieties of the games, activities and amusing antics that little ones revel in at the Museum, and more. "Between our specialty CBD-ME cocktail, DJ Hector, and the lineup of unique activities we've planned, guests are in for a truly remarkable and memorable night. I think the best part is that all of this is support of an incredible cause," Long said.
Proceeds from the Summer Fête will be used to match a generous grant from the Century Arts Foundation that will champion CMEE's bilingual coding program, allowing the Museum to reach additional underserved communities throughout the East End.
CMEE launched the successful bilingual coding program, the region's first of its kind, in 2017. The program was established to bolster STEAM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math), especially to serve Spanish-speaking children. With funding from the Fête, along with a matching grant from the Century Arts Foundation, CMEE will be able to present the well-received initiative to even more East End youth.
"Because of the Foundation's generosity, we have the opportunity to dramatically increase the impact of this program here in the East End," added Mr. Long. "By joining us on the 29th, supporters will be able to directly affect the lives of hundreds of kids."
Tickets for the Fête start at $250.
CMEE, which is one of the most visited museums on the East End of Long Island, hosts over 75,000 visitors each year. The Museum boasts more than 7,000 square feet of interactive, hands-on exhibits, classrooms, and performance space.
