Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic (PPHP) will host its annual East End Benefit: Artists for Choice on Saturday, June 15 at Guild Hall in East Hampton.
This year’s soiree will feature a special concert headlined by The Movin’ Out Band from the Tony Award Winning Billy Joel Musical Movin’ Out, as well as an art auction curated by Pamela Willoughby.
The Movin’ Out Band, led by singer Wade Preston (who was one of the two original principles starring in the “Piano Man” role in the hit musical, and was hand-selected by Mr. Joel himself), will showcase hits from The Billy Joel Songbook, while more than 50 artists donated exceptional pieces to the art auction, which will be hosted online by Paddle8.
“We are excited about this year’s event as it features an amazing art auction with beautiful and invocative pieces, as well as a concert featuring The Movin’ Out Band,” Vincent Russell, President & CEO, Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic, shared.
Funds raised during Artists for Choice will champion PPHP’s local efforts. “Proceeds from the event will support Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic’s health care services, education programs, and advocacy efforts throughout Suffolk County,” Russell noted.
PPHP has ten health centers located in Suffolk, Westchester, and Rockland counties, New York. Last year alone, the organization provided nearly 25,000 reproductive health visits to individuals in Suffolk County, which covered everything from birth control to STI testing and treatment to HIV testing and counseling to PrEP and PEP to prenatal visits to abortion care to HPV vaccinations to gender affirming care, and more. Its also serves the community by offering education programming, which reach thousands of young people through schools and community events.
