Before the Montauk Chamber’s annual, free summer Monday Night Concerts on the Green, a treasured tradition for both locals and visitors, kicks off, the Chamber will host an exciting preview of what’s to come during the “Concert for the Concerts.”
This year’s pre-series showcase will feature a trio of East End favorites and take place on Sunday, April 28 at Sole East Resort in Montauk from 3 to 7 p.m. Ray Red, the 3 B’s and The Potter-Tekulsky Band will headline the benefit concert, which supports the Chamber’s funding for the complimentary concerts.
“Montauk’s Monday concerts are big draws for our guests, the community and downtown businesses but they need to be funded,” Laraine Creegan, executive director of the Chamber, relayed. “Each year we try to spice up the fundraiser and are delighted that Sole East Resort is a new venue to come to this year.”
Admission to the “Concert for the Concerts” is $10 for adults and free for kids. In addition to the spectacular live music, there will be a 50-50 raffle and free raffles for kids, as well as a cash bar for food and beverages.
The Chamber’s summer series launches with Mondays on the Green, which is held June through August. Sunday concerts on Gosman’s Dockside Stage on the Harbor commences in July and continues through August. Previous headliners have included the Nancy Atlas Project, Gene Casey and the Lone Sharks, Mamalee Rose and Friends, the Hoodoo Loungers, and more.
