Water Mill’s Parrish Art Museum, a center for cultural engagement in the Hamptons, will hold its Midsummer Party on Saturday, July 14. The beloved seasonal soiree will celebrate Parrish Trustee Chad Leat and artist Keith Sonnier, whose solo exhibition, Keith Sonnier: Until Today, will be on view.
“For decades, the Midsummer Party has been the perfect recipe for bringing together artists and the community to celebrate the special relationship between the Museum and the cultural life of this unique region,” explained Parrish Director Terrie Sultan.
The Midsummer Party will commence at 6:30 p.m. with cocktails, followed by dinner on the Mildred C. Brinn Terrace at 7:30 p.m. The live auction – featuring an array of exceptional experiences and luxury items – will begin at 9 p.m. The festivities will continue at 10 p.m. with a Late Night Party featuring music from Alice Longyu Gao, dancing, and desserts by Olivier Cheng Catering & Events in the Lichtenstein Theater.
Attendees will also be able to muse at honoree Keith Sonnier’s Keith Sonnier: Until Today, as well as the Museum’s Five and Forward, the current permanent collection installation that pays tribute to the Museum’s fifth anniversary in the Herzog & de Meuron-designed building in Water Mill.
“The Parrish has been an enriching part of my cultural life on the East End for many years and as a Trustee for the last five years my respect and regard for the Museum and its importance to the community have grown tremendously,” said honoree Chad Leat. “I am extremely proud to be honored at this year’s Midsummer Party, alongside artist Keith Sonnier and look forward to a great event.”
Fern and Lenard Tessler will serve as honorary co-chairs with Deborah F. Bancroft, Laura Lofaro Freeman and James L. Freeman, Caroline Hirsch and Andrew Fox, Denise LeFrak, Christina and Alan MacDonald, Sandy and Stephen Perlbinder, Frederic M. Seegal, Marcia Dunn Sobel, and Joey Wölffer as host committee members. Larry Milstein is the Parrish Late Night Party Chair with a Late Night Party Committee of Serena Bancroft, Eugenia Bullock, Delia Folk, Alexander Hankin, Michael Xufu Huang, Merrin Jenkins, Anna Johnston, Michael Lorber, Cory Paul Martin, Toby Milstein, Joshua Pulman, Ryan Thomas Roth, Steven R. Sachs, Sydney Sadick, Storey Schifter, Palmer Stilwell Taipale, and Tyler Tananbaum.
Tickets begin at $1,500 per person and $500 for a Young Patron (ages 21-35). Admission to the Late Night Party is $200.
