Lace up your sneakers and gather your friends and family on Saturday, August 5th for Hope For Depression Research Foundation's annual Walk of Hope and 5K Run to Defeat Depression
. Every dollar raised during this event goes towards raising awareness and funds for advanced depression research.

, Hope For Depression Research Foundation (HDRF) Founder. "HDRF is addressing the problem by conducting the most advanced depression research today."
Gruss will lead participants, including Toby Milstein, Larry Milestein, Kim Heirston, Veronica Webb
and Sharon Bush
, on the route around Lake Agawam in Southampton Village
that begins at Southampton Cultural Center

will serve as this year's Grand Marshal.
"Everybody who commits to walking with us on August 5 is making a difference by raising critical awareness and funds for breakthrough brain research," added Gruss.

Check in for the race begins at 7:45 a.m. and the race starts at 9 a.m. The cost to register is $50 per adult and $15 per child. This fee includes a hat and shirt, and the first 500 participants will receive a keepsake hat. Prizes will also be awarded for the best time in different age groups and for the top fundraisers.
Gruss founded HDRF in April 2006 in order to help people like her mother who suffered from clinical depression. Today, HDRF is the leading nonprofit organization focused on depression research. HDRF's mission is to "fund innovative neuroscience research into the origins
, medical diagnosis, new treatments, and prevention of depression and its related mood disorders - bipolar disorder, postpartum depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety disorder and suicide."
