The beautiful LongHouse Reserve in East Hampton will be commemorating its 25th year of operation during their Silver Jubilee Serious Moonlight Celebration on Saturday, July 23rd. The event will rejoice in the future of LongHouse, as well as honor its past, bringing back a veritable who’s who list of their past honorees for the evening’s festivities.
Happening on the gorgeous grounds of the Reserve, the night will be an enchanting summer evening, kicking off at 6 p.m. with interstellar garden and music happenings, twilight cocktails and a silent auction. Following the cocktail hour, guests will enjoy a dinner created by Alice Waters, paired with Chappellet Wine. After enjoying the delicious meal, the party will get into full swing with “serious music and dancing” and a beautiful tribute to David Bowie. At 11 p.m., the silent auction will end, but the party will continue as guests are invited to dance into the night in LongHouse’s honor.
“Our 25th year Jubilee Benefit, Serious Moonlight, promises to uphold the high artistic standards of everything we do at LongHouse while being a great party,” explained President Dianne Benson. “The moon will shine on our exquisite grounds, Nico Muhly at a grand piano on the lawn, delicious food curated by Alice Waters herself, a preview of our new film, our dancers, one of whom is also one of our inaugural Creative Scholarship winners, the presence of our past honorees: Robert Wilson, Laurie Anderson, Bill T Jones and Cindy Sherman, to name a few.”
The benefit will also include a special performance. “And what would an evening called Serious Moonlight be without a little David Bowie,” added Benson. “The great Nona Hendryx will be with us to transmit a sound and light tribute, while DJ diva Donna d’Cruz will spin the best dance music. So – Let’s Dance!”
The event will honor Molly Chappellet and Luanne Wells, as well as celebrate LongHouse Founder Jack Lenor Larsen. Guests should come donning “night sky and silver” attire, fitting with the Moonlight theme.
Tickets begin at $500.
