On Saturday, June 4th, The Eleanor Whitmore Early Childhood Center is presenting their inaugural Spring into Summer Benefit: A Barn Dance at Kilmore Farm. The evening will celebrate Ba and Jim Edwards for their priceless dedication to East End youth.
“It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to our first Barn Dance at Kilmore Farm, thanks to our generous hosts Mary Ann McCaffrey and David Eagan,” said Ruth Ann McSpadden, Board Chair.
From 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., attendees will enjoy music by Roadhouse Band, southern fare and barbecue by Smokin’ Wolf, wine provided by Amagansett Spirits, beer provided by Montauk Brewery, and a live and silent auction.
“The contributions of the Edwards family cover a wide range of projects – from helping to fund the new playground to organizing a community Valentine’s Party for the children and hosting an annual holiday lunch for the teachers to running the annual golf benefit,” added McSpadden. “And all done with a smile and a happy heart!”
Providing the local youth with the right tools to succeed is essential. “The Eleanor Whitmore Early Childhood Center has provided care and compassion to our local children for over 40 years,” explained East Hampton Village Mayor Paul F. Rickenbach, Jr. “These services are important and crucial in today’s society where fewer parents are afforded the opportunity to be stay at home parents.”
Rickenbach, Jr. considers educational organizations one of the most important causes to support. “Here on the East End, each one of us is presented with opportunities to annually to contribute financially or with our time to many charitable causes,” he noted. “I personally believe that caring for our children, who live on our streets, learn in our local schools and hopefully one day will be able to live and raise their own children in our communities, is of the utmost and a duty incumbent on all of us.”
Individual tickets to Spring into Summer Benefit: A Barn Dance at Kilmore Farm are $200. Young Professional (under 35) tickets are $100.
