Once again, Thanksgiving weekend in the Hamptons will offer a look into the diverse architecture and landscapes that embody the essence of the East End during the annual East Hampton House & Garden Tour. This year’s tour, which will feature five unique properties, has “A Peek at History: Behind the Hedgerows” theme.
“Our House Tour Committee has creatively selected five houses that uniquely express the spirit of living on the East End,” shared Richard Barons, the Executive Director of the East Hampton Historical Society. “Different yet complementary, these private houses invite the viewer to ‘peek inside’ some of East Hampton’s most alluring structures.”
The holiday weekend happening will debut during a kick-off cocktail party on Friday, November 27th from 6 to 8 p.m. The celebration will take place at the summer house of Mr. and Mrs. Elie Hirschfeld, “Where Lily Pond Lane Meets Georgica Beach.” The spectacular Georgica abode was built in 1920 by John Custis Lawrence, a well-known architect, who experimented with Swiss influenced balconies and Arts & Crafts columns, which left the Hamptons escape with a modern feel. The house’s amazing waterfront views provide the perfect backdrop for the seasonal gathering.
Tickets to the Opening Night Cocktail Party are $200 and include entry to the House Tour on Saturday, November 28th from 1 to 4:30 p.m. All proceeds from both events benefit the East Hampton Historical Society.
