“Since Eileen Roaman helped found The Seedlings Project in 2001, the Seedlings program has developed more of our philosophy at Project MOST After School,” noted Susan Gentile Hackett, Director of Development at Project Most. “In the past seven years, the philosophy of Eileen’s garden classroom has expanded into environmental education, health & wellness and a summer camp.”
On Sunday, June 28th, Colin and Jessica Ambrose, and Joseph Realmuto are hosting Eileen’s Angels: A tribute to a champion. Art Auction and Garden Party. From 5 to 8 p.m., attendees will enjoy live music from Citris, with DJ Carlos Lama, an auction featuring spectacular works by a talented group of international and local artists, including Ross Bleckner, Cindy Sherman, Eric Fischl, and Mary Heilmann, and more. Held at Estia’s Little Kitchen, the benefit will also include bites and sips from local favorites, including Balsam Farms, Cavaniola’s Cheese & Gourmet, Channing Daughters, Estia’s Little Kitchen, Joe & Liza’sIce Cream, Macari Vineyards, Southampton Publick House and Wolffer Vineyards, PLAIN-T, Silver Spoon Specialties, The Sea Bean Natural Foods and Townline BBQ.
All proceeds from the evening will benefit the Springs Seedlings at Project MOST. “The Seedlings philosophy has shaped the pace and teaching of the entire after-school program at Project MOST, where children experience the true joy of learning for learning’s sake at their own pace,” shared Gentile Hackett. “Our garden classroom exemplifies that philosophy.”
The Seedlings Project is a garden classroom that was established following the model of The Edible Schoolyard, a garden created by Alice Waters. The Greenhouse, located on the grounds of the Springs School District, creates a sense of community for students, where they can learn about a plant’s life cycle while having fun and getting a little muddy.
Tickets to Eileen’s Angels: A tribute to a champion. Art Auction and Garden Party are $150 and Angels receive 4 tickets for only $500.
