The New York Junior League Hosts 60th Annual Winter Ball

New York City - The New York Junior League will celebrate 111 years of community service and honor seven members during its 60th annual Winter Ball, "Moonlight in Marrakesh," to be held at The Pierre Hotel in New York City on Saturday, March 3, 2012, from 7 p.m. to 12:30 a.m..

The evening will honor the substantial body of volunteer work done by Outstanding Sustainers Linda Fraser and Caroline Williamson and Outstanding Volunteers Maureen Brady Atinsky, Megan Karessa Hodes, Stacey Lawrence Lee, Patricia T. Miranda and Justine Varrichio Oddo while enjoying dinner and dancing at The Pierre Hotel in New York City.

Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-NY) returns for a second year as Mistress of Ceremonies. First elected to Congress in 1992, Maloney is recognized as a national leader with extensive accomplishments on financial services, national security, the economy and women's issues.

An exciting live auction will feature items from the Biltmore Hotel, Bloomingdales, Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, Fresh, Kate Spade, Moet Hennessey, New York Philharmonic and Sephora. Trump International also has provided packages to bid on from both their hotel and golf course properties.

All proceeds from ticket sales will support the New York Junior League's community outreach initiatives, including the Playground Improvement Project (PIP), which has revamped and rehabilitated neglected playgrounds and parks throughout New York City since 1992. East River Park, running along the East Village and Lower East Side shorelines has been selected as the 2012 PIP project, and during five weekends in April and May, NYJL and community volunteers will spend an estimated 10,000 volunteer hours renovating the park's playgrounds, athletic courts and gardens.

 • Harriman Circle Tickets are $750 and include preferred seating, a VIP gift bag and an invitation to an exclusive Harriman Circle cocktail party sponsored by Moet Hennessey on February 10th, 2012.

 • Friend Dinner Tickets are $450 and include reserved seating. Tickets purchased after 5 p.m. on February 10, 2012 will be $475.

 • Dancing Only Tickets are $200 and include cocktails and dessert from 9:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Dancing Only Tickets are $250 after 5 p.m. on February 10, 2012.

The New York Junior League (NYJL) is an organization of women committed to promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Since 1901, the NYJL has been a leader in identifying and responding to unmet community needs. Through direct service, collaborations with other community organizations and advocacy, the NYJL provides a positive force for change within the communities it serves. Each year more than 2,800 trained volunteers donate more than 250,000 hours of their time to better the lives of women and children in New York City. The NYJL works with more than 20 community-based organizations and public agencies to deliver services and assistance directly to women and children in need.
