Southampton - Ellen and Chuck Scarborough will host the Second Annual Unconditional Love Event, on Saturday, July 16, a benefit for the Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation. Sandra McConnell and Chris Obetz along with Liz Brown and Leslie Alexander will serve as the benefit Chairs. The event, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. will honor Karen LeFrak for all of her humanitarian efforts on behalf of animals, as well as people. LeFrak was the first person, along with her dog, Jewel, to be granted access to Mount Sinai Hospital in stroke and rehabilitation pet assisted therapy. Soon after, the services were extended to oncology and psychology followed by a pilot program in pediatrics. Following the 9/11 tragedy, she Co-chaired DOGNY which raised over $ 2 million for search and rescue dogs across the United States.

Drinks and "Bites" will be served, on the Scarborough's beautiful property, overlooking Lake Agawam in Southampton. In conjunction with the event an online auction managed by Charity Buzz will be featured commencing on July 13 and ending on August 18. Categories of luxury goods, in all price ranges, can be found for everyone's personal tastes. Jayne Young and Lisina Ceresa are the Auction Chairs, supported by April Gornik.

In addition, the shelter has been invited to serve as guests on WNBC/LX TV, Channel 4's Pet Project with Sarah Gore, on Thursday, July 14, 2011. Six adoptable dogs from the shelter will travel to NYC for their television debut, in hopes that the special person and loving home that they are looking for will connect with them through this appearance. Chuck Scarborough will be on hand, as well, to promote this important organization that services the entire Town of Southampton. The Pet Project was started by Maria Sansone who is serving as the Honorary Jr. Committee Chairperson for the July 16 benefit. Elizabeth Shafiroff, Jacqueline Shafiroff and Charles McConnell are the Jr. Committee Chairs.

The host for the evening will be Sara Gore - co-host of New York Live, the live, daily lifestyle show that airs weekdays at 5 p.m. on WNBC. She also anchors "Open House" the nationally syndicated weekly real estate and home design show on NBC, where she gives viewers behind the scenes access to distinctive and noteworthy properties across the country. A passionate foodie (having been a caterer, personal chef, and line cook for Jean-Georges), Sara can be seen cooking up creative dishes with some of the country's most in-demand chefs and restaurateurs on New York Live and First Look. She appears regularly on the "Today Show" on NBC and is on the entertainment council for Feeding America, the nation's largest domestic hunger-relief charity. For the past two years Sara has been involved in New York Live's Pet Project which has helped find over 150 dogs homes over the past two years.

All monies raised will directly benefit the shelter to aid in continuing their fine programs and projects. To learn more, please visit the website.
