will host their seventh annual End of Summer Celebration and Fireworks Show on Sunday, September 2 at 7 p.m.
"A melding of members, neighbors, and classical music makes this a highlight event for everyone involved," Robert J. Syron, Peconic Landing President and CEO, reflected.
The retirement community invites everyone to enjoy Labor Day
weekend during this much anticipated event - featuring a live performance from the Atlantic
Wind Symphony, a group of forty members from all across Long Island. They will perform songs by George Gershwin
, John Philip Sousa, famous Broadway hits, as well as a salute to Veterans and service members on the patio of Brecknock Hall.
The performance is sponsored by the Brecknock Hall Foundation, who maintain and preserve the historic mansion and landmark.
At 8:15 p.m., the fireworks will explode over Peconic Landing's community pond. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and beach chairs to the 20 minute show.
The celebration is a way for the members of Peconic Landing and staff to come together with the East End community.
"We invited all of our neighbors for what is always an incredible firework show," Syron added.
Admission to the End of Summer Celebration and Fireworks Show is free.
A rain date is scheduled for Monday, September 3 at 7 p.m.
Brecknock Hall is located at 1 Brecknock Road in Greenport. For updated information, visit www.peconiclanding.org.
