On Sunday, September 1, the
Peconic Landing will host their 8th annual "End of Summer Celebration".
Attracting hundreds of guests every year, this free event will feature music and fireworks for East End community members and visitors to enjoy, starting at 7 p.m.
"Each year we find that more and more families of the greater community have been joining in on the affair," said Robert J. Syron, President and CEO of Peconic Landing. "This event has become a tradition for Peconic Landing and the community, one that we can share with our neighbors and loved ones."
For music, the
Atlantic Wind Symphony, which features many musicians from Long Island, will perform on the patio at Brecknock Hall. Sponsored by the Brecknock Hall Foundation, the performance will include crowd pleasing songs by
George Gershwin, John Philip Sousa and many other Broadway hits.
The 20-minute firework show, sponsored by Peconic Landing, will begin at 8:15 p.m. Launched over Peconic Landing's community pond, guests are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs to the magnificent display.
Peconic Landing is a continuing care retirement community located on the North Fork of Long Island. Peconic Landing prides themselves on being the retirement community of choice for east community members age 62 or better.
In the event of inclement weather, the celebration will be rescheduled to take place on Monday, September 2.
Brecknock Hall is located at One Brecknock Road in Greenport. For more information, visit www.preconiclanding.org.
