Where To Spot 4th Of July Fireworks, Parades, And Other Independence Day Happenings On The North Fork

On the North Fork, 2018 Independence Day festivities will include fireworks, of course, parades, a NASCAR night, cruise, and more.

Riverhead Raceway (1797 Old Country Road, Riverhead) will hold its 68th Year Celebration with Fireworks on Saturday, June 30. The NASCAR Night will include a 4 cylinder demo, kids big wheel race, 68 Lap Tour Modifieds (Time Trials), Figure 8's, Crate Modifieds, Super Pro Trucks, 30 Lap INEX Legends, Street StockS, Gut & Go 8 Enduro, the fireworks show at 9 p.m. and more. The Orient Harbor 4th of July fireworks display, presented by the Orient Harbor July 4th Festivities, Inc., will take place on Saturday, June 30 at 9:15 p.m. For more information, visit ww.orientfireworks.com.

The Orient Harbor Fireworks Cruise will take place on Saturday, June 30 from 7 to 10:30 p.m. Departing from Peconic Cruise Line (103 3rd Street, Greenport), you can watch the Orient Harbor fireworks display from the water, and even catch Sag Harbor's extravaganza from afar. Oysterponds Historical Society is hosting its 9th Annual Heritage Day on Sunday July 1, from 12 to 3 p.m. The home-grown celebration of local history and culture commences at noon with a parade starting at the Civil War Monument on Village Lane, followed by a reading of the Declaration of Independence at the Old Point Schoolhouse. The New Suffolk 26th Annual Fourth of July Parade will take place on Wednesday, July 4, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The parade will begin at Tuthill Road and New Suffolk Road, continue south on New Suffolk Road and turn left onto Main Street and then right onto First Street, ending at New Suffolk Beach. The Southold Village Fourth of July Parade, sponsored by Southold Village Merchants, will be held on Wednesday, July 4 from 12 to 1 p.m. The parade will head down Main Road from Boisseau Avenue to Southold American Legion Griswold-Terry-Glover Post 803.

The Phenix Hook & Ladder Co. and Relief Hose Company Carnival at the Polo Grounds (Moore's Lane, Greenport) will begin on Independence Day and continue through Saturday, July 7. Attendees will enjoy rides, games, food, and fireworks displays on Thursday, July 5 and Saturday, July 7. The carnival opens at 6 p.m. daily.

Fireworks at Grangebel Park (Peconic Avenue, Riverhead) will take place on Thursday, July 5 at 9:15 p.m. For more information, visit www.townofriverheadny.gov.
