The American Heart Association
(AHA) will host its 8th Annual Healing Heart 5k Run/Walk on Sunday, November 20th. The event will be held at the beautiful Pugliese Vineyards in the heart of the Long Island wine country in Cutchogue.
"We are excited to have the 8th Annual Healing Heart 5K during a new time of the year at beautiful Pugliese Vineyards," remarked Barbara Poliwoda
, Regional Director of the American Heart Association.
Hundreds of runners and walkers are expected to participate in this year's run/walk. Event registration begins at 9 a.m., with a fun run for children 10 and under beginning at 10:45 a.m. The 3.1 mile off road race will be begin at 11 a.m.
Following the race, an awards ceremony will take place at 12:30 p.m., which will celebrate the top male and female runners along with the top runners in various age groups.
Participants can also attend the 8th Annual Healing Heart 5k Run/Walk's onsite health expo. Additionally, the afternoon will include music for everyone to enjoy following the race.
"We hope everyone will enjoy the new course route and great entertainment after the race," added Poliwoda.

The Healing Heart 5k was designed to raise awareness about heart disease - the number one killer of men and women across the country and on our very own Long Island. This event hopes to jumpstart a culture of health and physical activity. This is a family-oriented activity for all age groups!
Admission is $30 for adults who pre-registration in advance or $35 on the day of the race. Entry for children under the age of 16 is $20 in advance and $25 on the day of the race.
