Join the Hallockville Museum Farm in Riverhead for their annual Barn Dance on Saturday, July 30th from 6:30 to 9 p.m. There will be live traditional music and time to learn the dance steps from caller Chart Guthrie in the historic Naugles Barn.
"Historically, barn dances were events that brought the community together, even in sparsely-populated rural areas," remarked Beth Motschenbacher of Hallockville. "While the East End of Long Island may not be as sparsely-populated as it once was, we continue the tradition and look forward to welcoming visitors from far and wide to this annual event."

Guests of all dancing experience are welcome! It's a fun, summer tradition and an annual fundraiser for the not-for-profit museum. There will be a delicious food truck by Noah's On the Road and local beer and wine for cash purchase.
"Chart Guthrie is a well-regarded caller of traditional dances - so no experience is necessary," said Motschenbacher. "He has been calling dances for the Long Island Traditional Music Association's events since 1984, and we are looking forward to his annual return to the North Fork at our barn dance on July 30."
