This Father's Day weekend, strawberry season on the North Fork will hit its peak. In honor of the local bounty, the Mattituck Lions Club is hosting the 62nd Annual Strawberry Festival from Thursday, June 16th through Sunday, June 19th. Presented by Bridgehampton National Bank
, this is Long Island's largest strawberry festival and charity fundraiser. The sweet event will take place at 1175 Route 48 in Mattituck.
The festival will kick off on Thursday with hulling, beginning at 5 p.m. and a carnival from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. A lite fireworks show will begin at 9:15 p.m. On Friday, the festival begins at 5 p.m. and will last until 11 p.m., with "great" fireworks at 10 p.m. On Saturday, the Strawberry Queen will be crowned, and the Festival will also showcase music by the Nick Kerzner Band, along with Who Are Those Guys
, will perform, and a "grand finale" fireworks show will take place at 10:15 p.m. On Sunday, the happening will wrap up with carnival rides, entertainment, arts & craft vendors and more, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Attendees will enjoy delicious strawberries, fresh from the strawberry fields or dipped in chocolate, all weekend long. Live entertainment, kid-friendly carnival rides, and fireworks will make for a fun weekend for the entire family!
Proceeds from the Strawberry Festival will support the Lion's International mission of helping the blind, as well as several East End community and non-profit organizations.
Admission is $5 for adults and children 5-years old and older, and free for children under 5-years-old.
