Long Island Farm Bureau (LIFB) is hosting their 97th Annual Awards Gala at the Polish Hall in Riverhead on Friday, April 17th, from 6 to 10 p.m. The event will honor Vincent Sasso, of DeLea Sod Farms, who will receive the "Amherst Davis Memorial Farmer Citizen of the Year Award." The evening will also pay tribute to Doug Geed of News 12 Long Island, who will receive the "Long Island Farm Bureau Citizen Award."
The mission of LIFB is to justly and uncompromisingly represent and serve the best interest of their members through unified action, using the vigor of a grassroots organizational network and relying on efficient guidance to supply strong, networked and allied Farm Bureau organizations at the local, state and national organization levels. Overall, the organization aims to protect and strengthen the nation's agricultural industry.
