The Suffolk Theater is hosting a birthday bash celebrating Johnny Cash on Friday, February 27th. The evening will feature classic hits from the country legend during a reinterpretation of the "Ring of Fire" Broadway musical, which was based on the music of Cash.
The short-lived musical, which was conceived by William Meade and created and directed by Richard Maltby Jr., drew upon Cash's songs to paint a picture of the everyman's world. "In 38 musical numbers, a mosaic of American experience is pieced together in 'Ring of Fire,'" the "Ring of Fire" creators told Playbill.
Veteran Broadway musician, Frank Canino, who has worked on "Beautiful: The Carole King Musical," "Motown: The Musical," and many others, created the updated version. So get ready to enter the ring of fire and get rhythm, when get the blues as Johnny Cash's greatest hits fill the Suffolk Theater.
Tickets to "Ring of Fire: The Johnny Cash Musical" are $49. The show will begin at 8 p.m.
