"I would like to express my gratitude to my community for the support, it's just amazing what you can accomplished when people with the desired to improved other people lives come together," noted
Jazmin Carrillo, founder of
Programa Sueños.
On Thursday, February 27,
Love Lane Kitchen hosted a fundraiser for the nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide quality education to children in San Antonio el Angel, Guatemala.
Many North Fork establishments lent a helping hand to make the soiree a whopping success; it raised an astonishing $25,000. Tom Shaudel spearheaded the auction which raised a large portion of donations while founding board member Jen Lew assisted with coordinating the event and photographer Dave Benthal was there to capture the festive feeling of the party. Local chef and Programa Sueños consultant
Gerry Hayden and Love Lane Kitchen owner Carolyn Iannone also played a huge part in the benefit's triumph.
During the evening, attendees enjoyed cocktails from Love Lane Kitchen and
noah's manager Kim Gersic, wine from Roanoke Vineyards, and beer from
Greenport Harbor Brewing Company. Long Island restaurants like Lola's,
North Fork Table & Inn, Grace & Grit, noah's, A Mano, First and South,
Jewel provided delectable bites.
Ecstatic with the result of the event, Carrillo is excited for the next steps the organization will take to provide resources to children in need.
