With February, 14, on the horizon, love is in the air. For those of you who believe your love should be celebrated all the time, here are five North Fork Valentine's Day activities that span the whole week of Valentine's Day.

1. Nothing sets the mood like a romantic concert and Long Island Winterfest, the 6 week mid-winter music festival, has two Valentine's Day options. Bistro 72 at Hotel Indigo (1830 West Main Street, Route 25, Riverhead, 631-369-2200, www.indigoeastend.com) will showcase a free jazz performance from Alexander Clough from 7 to 10 p.m., while the Suffolk Theater (118 East Main Street, Riverhead, 631-727-4343, suffolktheater.com) will have Valentine's Candlelight Comedy with Last Comic Standing's Myq Kaplan. Tickets are $35 and doors as well as the bar and restaurant open at 6:30 p.m. The show will begin at 8 p.m., but make sure you stick around for the after party with dancing and a DJ.

2. If you're looking to keep the spirit of Saint Valentine going, enjoy a sweet afternoon at Sparkling Pointe's Valentine's Day Sparkling Wine & Cupcake Pairing (39750 County Road 48, Southold, 631-765-0200, www.sparklingpointe.com) on Saturday, February 15, through Monday, February 17. The event will feature three award-winning sparkling wines paired with three delectable mini cupcakes from Blondie's Bake Shop in Centerport. Reservations are a must and the cost is $20 per person.

3. Alex Ferrone Photography Gallery (25425 Main Road, Cutchogue, 632-734-8545, www.alexferrone.com) has "Small Works, Big Gifts," a special exhibit featuring over 50 framed photographic works 14" or smaller from 21 Long Island and national, award-winning photographers. The show is currently on display through Sunday, February 9, so if your Valentine spots something that peaks their interest, pick up as a present for the big day. The gallery is open Thursday through Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

4. The Port Jefferson Free Library (100 Thompson Street, Port Jefferson, 631-473-0022, www.portjefflibrary.org) will celebrate the Feast of Saint Valentine with a cooking demonstration by Syrian/Lebanese Chef Nissy Bandar-Zari. On Thursday, February 13, learn how to spoil your beau with a delicious yet healthy meal at home. The presentation is from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

5. A trip to "The City of Love" might not be on your itinerary for this year, but you and your love can still be there in spirit by attending the Artists and Carafes Paris Scene Painting Party at the Heron Suites (61600 Main Road, Southold, 631-765-5121, www.artistsandcarafes.com). On Wednesday, February 12, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., create a 16×20 masterpiece inspired by the charming city in France. Entry is $40, which includes all materials, step by step instructions, cheese and crackers and a live music from The Days Beneath Us. The North Fork's original Painting Party experience is BYOB, so bring along a festive sparkling spirit.
