When the Coronavirus pandemic hit, Wendy's Deli set out to make sure that the staff at Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital (SBELIH) were treated to a delicious meal, donating over 150 dishes. And Wendy Zuhoski, owner of the Mattituck-based delicatessen, personally reached out to the Greenport-based hospital to make sure that meals had been delivered to every single department.
Then, in July, she donated 450 customized "SBELIH Strong" t-shirts to the hospital's employees. Once again, Zuhoski personally reached out to ensure that every single hospital employee would have a t-shirt.
To commemorate Zuhoski's support, last month
Paul J. Connor III, Chief Administrative Officer of Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital, presented Zuhoski with a plaque to celebrate her many generous contributions to SBELIH in response to the pandemic.
"Wendy is an incredible example of the individuals who make our community so special," stated Connor. "We can't thank her enough for all of her support and generosity."
