Greenport's Green Hill Kitchen & Que will host a new summer Pitmaster Series, which will welcome well-known chefs from around the country who will cook alongside Executive Chef Matty Boudreau
. Pitmaster Matty is a three-time Grill Hampton winner and Massachusetts-native, bringing his passion for barbecue to the East End.
The Pitmaster Series will be held on Saturdays throughout July and August and guests will enjoy BBQ cooked by different featured chefs, complete with live music. Each chef will prepare a special BBQ dish and it will remain available until they run out. The regular a la carte menu will also be available. All live performances will begin at 3 p.m.
The series will kick-off on Saturday, July 25 with founding Pitmaster Rob Shawger and Chef Matt Abdoo cooking pork ribs. Hot Lava
will provide the tunes. Chef Matt Abdoo opened Pig Beach BBQ as a summer pop up in 2015, alongside investor Rob Shawger after winning international BBQ competitions together. Soon after, the duo permanently opened Pig Beach BBQ as a restaurant and gained prestigious accolades. With the success of Pig Beach in Brooklyn, Chef Abdoo and Shawger opened Pig Bleecker in Greenwich Village in 2017.
On Saturday, August 1, the music will be by Hopefully Forgiven
and the chef is meat aficionado, Mike Puma cooking smash
burgers. Puma is the founder of The Gotham Burger Social Club, a group of 15 gentlemen who rate a different burger each month. They are now the most trusted source to find the best burgers in NYC. After 25 years in the city, Puma is no stranger to the robust and changing dining scene and shares all his culinary experiences on Instagram @gothamburgersocialclub
On Saturday, August 8, the music will be by Jon Divello
's Band and the chef is pitmaster Kelly Dallas cooking a whole hog. Dallas started Hogapalooza as a competition team in 1998 and has evolved into a renowned catering business, catering events, weddings, and corporate functions all over the country.
On Saturday, August 15, the music will be by Hopefully Forgiven and the chef is a surprise guest.
On Saturday, August 22, the music will be by Hot Lava and there will be another surprise guest.
On Saturday, August 29, the music will be by Dave Kellan and the chef is John Wheeler cooking wagyu brisket. Wheeler is a partner and Pitmaster in the Memphis Barbecue Company, one of the hottest BBQ restaurants in the country. Among his many accomplishments, he is also the Head Cook for the Natural Born Grillers BBQ Team, one of the most award-winning BBQ competition teams in the world.
