"People love the Long Island Garlic Festival because it's a constant surprise," shared Eve and Chris Kaplan-Walbrecht of Garden of Eve Organic Farm & Market. "Garlic flavored Ice Cream? Garlic Cookies? As well as perennial favorites like garlic soup, hot sauces, from the thrills of the kids doing the Garlic Cookoff to the torture of the Garlic Eating Contest, this is NOT your everyday Long Island festival."
Honoring "the wonders of Garliciana," the festival will revolve around freshly harvested, organic garlic from Garden of Eve and other Long Island Organic Farms - who will showcase several different varieties, garlic inspired foods, different ways that garlic can be prepared and used, and provide an abundance of mouthwatering samplings of bites like garlic jellies, garlic soup, pickled garlic, and Garlic Ice Cream.
But, it's not entirely about the garlic. Attendees will enjoy live music, fiber arts, hayrides, crafts, workshops, food demos, and more. The family-friendly event will also offer children's games and play equipment, pumpkin picking, pony rides, and the chance to meet and interact with farm animals.
And, for those who really want to show their commitment to garlic, entering the Garlic Eating Contest is a must.
