North Fork Community Theatre (NFCT) members will razzle-dazzle East End audiences throughout the first weekend of 2020 during NFCT's 16th annual Variety Show.
"We have plenty of solo, duet, and small group singing acts, but we also have skits, stand-up comedy, and dancing too," Liz Liszanckie explained.
Each year the weekend highlights established NFCT favorites and newbies. "The thing I love about The Variety Show is that not only do you get a variety of performances, but you also get a variety of new and veteran NFCT performers," Liszanckie shared. "Last year Stuart Whalen performed in The Variety Show for the first time, and since then he joined the casts of The Drowsy Chaperone
and Little Women,
and performed his own adaptation of A Christmas Carol
Performances will be held on Friday, January 3 and Saturday, January 4 at 7:30 p.m., as well as Sunday, January 5 at 2:30 p.m.
"It's always nice to see someone try The Variety Show for the first time, only to realize that the NFCT has plenty of opportunities for them," Liszanckie said.
Proceeds from the weekend will champion local students interested in the arts. "For the past few years, the Variety Show has been organized by Mark and Lauren Sisson," Liszanckie relayed. "It raises money for the NFCT Scholarship Fund. We award six scholarships to eligible local high school seniors."
