Eleven New York City and Long Island-based artists are featured in the third iteration of Spring into Collecting Exhibit, which will launch Alex Ferrone Gallery's 2018 season.

"We are excited to open the Gallery's sixth season with this eclectic exhibition," shared gallery owner Alex Ferrone. "Featured are new works by artists who have exhibited with us before including Karen Bell, Katherine Liepe-Levinson, Jim Sabiston, and Steven Schreiber, as well as, works by a few photographic artists that are new to the Gallery including Thomas Halaczinsky, Mac Titmus and Peter Brauné."

"On view are pieces of varied sizes from Larry Davis' jewel-like three-inch photographs, up to the three-foot works of Alex Vignoli," Ferrone said. "The Gallery is also pleased to be exhibiting larger beautiful, black & white silver gelatin photographs by Linda K. Alpern, as well as, mixed media works from Colin Goldberg's Photoconstructs series."

Alpern, who resides in Sag Harbor, focuses on portraiture. Her work has appeared in solo and group exhibitions in galleries and museums throughout the Hamptons and can also be found in the permanent collections at Guild Hall Museum, Parrish Art Museum, and the Philadelphia Museum of Art in Philadelphia, PA.

The photographs of Bell, who is based in New York City, have been showcased at The Brooklyn Museum, Ellis Island Immigration Museum, White Columns in New York City, as well as The Alliance Gallery in Narrowsburg, NY. The RISD alumni has been awarded grants from LMCC/Governors Island, The New School, Womens Interart Center, and has earned fellowships to Yaddo and Virginia Center for the Creative Arts.

Huntington-based Brauné, a professional photographer, has had his works appear in advertising, print catalogs, magazines, and on the web. His fine art work is often inspired by unplanned, incidental and unpredictable art that occurs in nature.

Davis, who calls Yonkers home, is a self-taught photographer whose pieces have won several awards. The exhibiting member of Soho Photo in Manhattan has been showcased in solo and group shows throughout the Tri-State New York area and in South America. His work was also chosen for the permanent collection of the Polaroid Corporation.

Goldberg, of Rocky Point, dubbed his work as Techspressionism, in regards to the exploration of "the intersection of traditional and digital art-making." His works have appeared in The New York Times and were selected to be included in the permanent collections of the Islip Art Museum and the Pollock-Krasner House.

Halaczinsky, an award-winning documentary filmmaker, photographer and writer, splits his time between Brooklyn and Greenport. His work explores the connection between people and places, leading him to his latest focus - an expedition of the Archipelago of New York via sailboat. Archipelago New York, Halaczinsky's photographic and literary log of his current fascination, is being published by Schiffer Books. It will be released this spring.

Renewal by Mac Titmus.

Liepe-Levinson, of Forest Hills, studied at the International Center for Photography in New York City. Her award-winning fine art photography his appeared locally, at major art fairs such as Art Miami, Art Basel, and Wynwood Art, and on journal, magazine, and book covers.

Sabiston, who hails from Bay Shore, is an award-winning, freelance artist that has been fêted by National Geographic Explorer magazine, the Adirondack Mountain Club, the Islip Arts Council, Gallery North, and East End Arts. His latest series uses his background as a painter and photographer to create works that mix bold fundamentals of both mediums.

Schreiber, of Flanders, has exhibited at Alex Ferrone Gallery, East End Arts, Remsenburg Academy, Karen Mannix Contemporary Gallery, and The South Street Gallery. The award-winning photographer's signature is visual textures and colors.

Coram-based Titmus is an award-winning photographic artist that seamlessly connects the worlds of reality and imagination, resulting in "Interpretative Photography."

Vignoli, of Southampton, is inspired by Da Vinci, Dali, Escher and other Surrealism artists. The award-winning commercial and fine art photographer has been featured in over 50 exhibitions internationally and his works can be found in both private and corporate international collections, including in Brazil, Costa Rica, England, France, Greece, and the U.S.

Spring into Collecting Exhibit debuts during the Artists' Reception on Saturday, April 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. It will remain on view through Sunday, May 13.
