Is your DVR filled with shows and movies like The Walking Dead, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Dawn of the Dead, iZombie, Grindhouse
Are you "convinced" that the zombie apocalypse is coming? Well, it is.
On Saturday, April 2nd, the Suffolk Theater
is hosting The Zombie Wedding,
an interactive theater experience. Starting at 8 p.m., you can be a guest at The Walking Wed,
presented by the original producers of the theatrical hit Tony n' Tina's Wedding.
The evening will bring together a human bride, who will wed her zombie groom. Attendees will ooh and aah as they share their first kiss and dance, cheer as they cut the cake, laugh as the best man and maid of honor toast to the couple and smile as the evening comes to a close. Once the ceremony is finished, zombies and humans will commemorate the matrimony together on a kooky and wacky dance floor. The night will feature several performances, including a routine showcasing the choreography from Michael Jackson
music video. And attendees are more than welcome to take part in the planned party acts.
Whether you join the groom donning your zombie best or are more comfortable embracing your human characteristics on the bride's side, the wedding chaos is bound to be outrageously entertaining. If you arrive a little early (doors open at 6 p.m.), you'll even have the chance to receive a complimentary zombie makeover (based on availability).
Tony n' Tina's Wedding
is an Off-Broadway show that merges the union of two lively and zany Italian-American families. Audiences eat, sip, hit the dance floor and mingle, just as you would during an actual wedding. Since everyone adores a good soiree, its creators decided why wait until you were invited to one? The Walking Wed
follows the same show idea, just with one of the lovers as an undead.
Tickets are $45 and $35 for students.
The Suffolk Theater is located at 118 East Main Street in Riverhead. For more information, call 631-727-4343 or visit www.suffolktheater.com.
