Don't let the first wave of real winter weather get you down. But, if you do start to go a little stir crazy as you're stuck inside from chilly temperatures, use your overactive mind as motivation to construct a masterpiece that can be entered in East End Arts' upcoming non-juried, all media Annual Members Show.

Out of Your Mind, the Gallery's first new exhibit of 2016, is set to debut on Friday, January 29th. Featured artists are encouraged to use their whimsical side to unveil their visionary approach to art. "When inspiration comes from your imagination, your dreams, your emotions, or just from fun playing with form, the results can be quite enchanting," explained East End Arts Gallery Director Jane Kirkwood about the exhibit's themed. "A made up landscape or person (figurative or abstract) is guaranteed to be unique."

Artwork must be an original piece, and the exhibit is open to all mediums. Artists are limited to a sole entry, which must be wired for hanging and can have a maximum dimension of 14 inches wide and 40 inches high, including the frame. The show is open to all artists, with the only requirement being they must be or become a member of East End Arts.

Out of Your Mind is part of the Gallery's "The Creative Process" series. "All members are welcome to bring in one entry for exhibit," added Kirkwood. Submissions must be dropped off at the East End Arts Gallery on Thursday, January 21st from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Friday, January 22nd from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; or Saturday, January 23rd from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Opening Reception for Out of Your Mind will take place on Friday, January 29th from 5 to 7 p.m., and is free and open to the public. The show will run through Friday, March 4th.

The East End Arts Gallery is located at 133 East Main Street in Riverhead. For more information, call 631-727-0900 or visit www.eastendarts.org.
