"Translucent," a stunning new exhibit featuring inquisitive works by regional award-winning photographers Karen Bell and Ennid Berger, will debut at the Alex Ferrone Photography Gallery
on Saturday, June 27th and be on view through Sunday, August 9th. You can meet the artists during an opening reception at the Cutchogue gallery on Saturday, June 27th from 6 to 8 p.m.
Karen Bell, a New York City
and East End resident, investigates curiosities like feathers, reeds, and twisted vines and then prints her discoveries of combined photographic images on airy layers of vellum over paper. Her works symbolize the normal densities one finds on a daily basis, taking an interest on a single layer as we try to grasp an entire translucent dimensional scene. The artist is showing delicate images from random encounters found with greenery fragments and petals afloat in still waters.

Long Island-based Ennid Berger is exhibiting radiant works that have captured the energy and mass of her botanical subjects on light sensitive paper. The one-of-a-kind pieces were created without a camera in a traditional darkroom, using multiple printing processes. To further enhance select pieces, Berger hand-applied oil paint.
Join Karen Bell and Ennid Berger for a free Gallery Talk on Sunday, July 12th at 1 p.m., where they will discuss their work. The afternoon will include a light lunch.
