"My jaded eye is drawn to anything that challenges it," expressed
East End Arts guest juror, Brian Washburn. "I am a picture person and I have looked at, and look at a lot of pictures."
East End Arts is debuting a new juried, all media art show,
Abstract & Almost Abstract, on Friday, March 13th during an opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m. The exhibit showcases artwork featuring abstract elements. "Whether purely abstract or just a little bit figurative, the artwork in this exhibition will be far from representational," explained
East End Arts Gallery Director, Jane Kirkwood.
"My head is filled with a million images," said Washburn, an artist and the Director of the Washburn Gallery in New York, NY. "So I look for work that makes me think, hmmm."
Abstract & Almost Abstract will run through Friday, April 17th. Admission to the opening reception is free and the event is open to the public.
The East End Arts Gallery is located at 133 East Main Street in Riverhead. For more information, call 631-727-0900 or visit www.eastendarts.org.
