Up-and-coming bluegrass band The Bankesters will harmonize their way into your heart during their concert at Sylvester Manor
in Shelter Island on Saturday, January 17th at 7:30 p.m.
The family band features the musical stylings of Phil and Dorene Bankester with their three daughters, Emily Bankester, Alysha Bankester, and Melissa Triplett, and son-in-law, Kyle Triplett. The Bankesters' latest album, "Love Has Wheels," took home the 13th annual Independent Music Award for Best Bluegrass Album in June 2014. "With their moving harmonies weaving around and above their shimmering instrumentals, The Bankesters blow a fresh breeze into the bluegrass world," said Country Standard Time about the bluegrass band.
Produced by Alison Brown, the performance will kickoff with a set from local group, Large Print Edition, and also include guest appearances from Sierra Hull, Rob Ickes, Josh Williams, Jim Hurst, Kenny Malone and others.
