231,840 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in women in 2015, according to the American Cancer Society, Cancer Facts & Figures 2015. This year, fitness guru Tracy Anderson and the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF), the sole A+ rated breast cancer organization in the United States, have teamed up for Move to Cure to raise awareness and vital funding in support of the fight against breast cancer, the second most common cancer among American women, after skin cancer.
“I am so grateful to join forces with so many amazing leaders in the fitness industry in support of breast cancer research with the launch of the inaugural Move to Cure campaign,” expressed Anderson, who counts Gwyneth Paltrow and Lena Dunham among clients.
Move to Cure is a campaign for pioneers in the fitness community to support BCRF’s life saving programs and research, and also to educate the public about breast health. Anderson has joined forces with leading boutique fitness studios, who will invite their clients to Move to Cure in their favorite workout way throughout October, which is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Before or after a sweat session at select Tracy Anderson, Cyc Fitness, The Fhitting Room, and Physique 57 locations, fitness buffs can purchase a powerful pink athletic bracelet for $3, with 100 percent of proceeds going to BCRF. To support the fundraising efforts, studios will also host special classes throughout the month where 100 percent of the proceeds will be donated to BCRF.
In the Hamptons, the powerful pink bracelet will be available at the Tracy Anderson Water Mill studio (903 Montauk Highway, Water Mill) and Tracy Anderson East Hampton Studio (30 Park Place, East Hampton).
At the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, 91 cents of every dollar spent is invested directly into research and awareness programs, ensuring that the critical funds raised are used wisely and well.
