Bridgehampton School Foundation (BSF) is holding their debut Country Fair on Sunday, May 24th, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Bridgehampton School grounds. The old-fashioned fair will feature artisan vendors and crafts, a bake sale, and several other community organized exhibitions.
“We will have a number of different vendors offering things such as hot dogs, lemonade, antiques, jewelry, embroidered items, ice cream, spring plants, clothing, and baked goods,” shared Jeffrey Mansfield, Bridgehampton School Foundation president.
“In addition, there will be live music at the opening of the fair, and the Bridgehampton Fire Department will be there with one of their vehicles,” Mansfield noted. “All of the funds raised will be used for programming not provided by the school budget.”
All proceeds from the event benefit Bridgehampton School students. “Not many people know it, but over 50 percent of our student body live below the poverty line,” said Mansfield. “So, we hope we get a great turn out from the community this year, with the idea that this fair will be an annual event that will grow in size and scope.” BSF raises money for education programs that are not factored into the district budget. These programs are important in strengthening the academic community and enhancing the involvement of students.
