More than 50 exceptional antiques, and art dealers will set up shop at Mulford Farm in East Hampton when the highly anticipated 2019 East Hampton Antiques & Design Show opens with a Preview Cocktail Party on Friday, July 19. The Show will remain open through Saturday, July 20 and Sunday, July 21.

Jonathan Adler and Simon Doonan will serve as this year's Honorary Co-Chairs. "The East Hampton Antiques & Design Show is the best place in the world to shop for all the design treasures you need (and the design treasures you didn't even know you need). Come for the design, stay for the magical setting, and support the East Hampton Historical Society at the same time," mused Adler, a potter, designer, author, and founder of his namesake brand, Jonathan Adler.

"The East Hampton Antique & Design show has gorgeous stuff and even more gorgeous people attending. Yes, I AM definitely referring to myself and my husband Jonathan Adler. He's the 'design' bit and I am the 'antique,'" joked Doonan, Creative Ambassador for Barneys New York and expert judge on NBC's Making It.

As per usual, the 13th iteration will feature a myriad of gorgeous, unique finds.

"Antiques make for good design because influences of the past truly reinforce the saying that 'everything old is new again.' Some say there is nothing new under the sun. That might be if it were not for the creative genius of designers and artists, who take inspiration from what has come before and imagine in a new way," Maria Vann, Executive Director of the East Hampton Historical Society, reflected. "It is precisely that re-imagining which makes for not just good...but great design. The best design comes from talented people who can find insights of the past and remake the old into a remarkable new."

The Fair's focus is vintage decorative items for the home and garden as well as art, offering timeless highlights like classic rattan and bamboo furniture, lighting, textiles, architectural elements, American and European country decorated furniture, Art Deco and Moderne, garden ornaments, wrought-iron accessories, industrial items, paintings, trade signs, period jewelry, weathervanes, and mirrors.

"Spice it up, play with different periods. If, as Edger Allen Poe said, 'The carpet is the soul of the apartment, furniture and art are the exclamation points. Look around at the shelter magazines and there are collections of ironstone pitchers, groupings of Victorian shop signs and weather-vanes gracing shelves and walls," Richard Barons, Chief Museum Curator of the East Hampton Historical Society, advised. "It is all about personality. An 18th century chest that you found at a Connecticut antiques show tells your guests that you are a hunter/gatherer not a couch-shopper. You likely don't live in a museum, but you enjoy owning a few museum pieces. It is far more invigorating sitting on a Modernist chair and enjoying your own post-impressionist paintings, than starring at huge flat screen…"

Once again, a wide variety of styles - from classic to contemporary - can be found.

"Salvador Dali once said, 'A true artist is not one who is inspired, but whom inspires others.' With that in mind, considered an antique at one time was contemporary design. I would call that full circle," Brian Ferguson, Antiques Dealer and East Hampton Antiques & Design Show Manager, added.

The East Hampton Antiques & Design Show is held in support of the East Hampton Historical Society, whose mission is to "serve the residents and visitors of East Hampton by collecting, preserving, presenting and interpreting the material, cultural and economic heritage of the town and its surroundings."

Tickets for the Friday night Opening Night Preview Cocktail Party start at $175 per person, which include return visits over the weekend, while Junior Tickets (ages 40 and under) are priced at $100. Admission to the Antiques Show is $10, with early buying access at $20. The show will be open on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with an early buying hour at 9 a.m. and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
