Break Your Winter Workout Rut During This Montauk Physique 57 Retreat

Nicole Barylski

Cabin fever got you stuck in a fitness rut? Physique 57, the cult favorite barre workout, is presenting a weekend long Winter Retreat at Gurney's Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa that will get you back on track.

Led by Alicia Weihl, Executive Director of Global Talent and Training & Instructor at Physique 57 - whose mantra is "workout because you love your body, not in order to love your body" - the three day experience will include restorative mediation, leisurely brunches an group dinners, aromatherapy, a natural beauty workshop, challenging Physique 57 classes - of course, and other restorative happenings.

"Expect a weekend a weekend escape of movement and mindfulness at the beach," said Emily Eitches, Physique 57 Digital Marketing Director. "Physique 57 Master Trainer, Alicia Weihl, will be teaching two invigorating Physique 57 classes. Fern Olivia will lead two restorative, meditative workshops throughout the weekend. When not in class, guests can expect ample time to spa, leisure, and enjoy brunch and dinners with the other retreaters."

The Wellness Retreat will take place from Friday, February 9 through Sunday, February 11.

"We are excited to kick off our winter of wellness by continuing to bring in the top studios and trainers year-round," said Michael Nenner, general manager for Gurney's Resorts. "Winter in the Hamptons is the perfect place for a body and mind reset and we look forward to welcoming guests and locals alike for this retreat and beyond."

The intimate restorative weekend is open to just 20 participants.

"Gurney's is the perfect location to rest and unwind. Gurney's has amenities for Physique 57 classes, including a fully outfitted studio," Eitches noted. "Additionally, they have a spa and restaurant. The beach location is also ideal for ultimate relaxation!"

During Physique 57, you use your own bodyweight as resistance. The workout, which counts Chrissy Teigen, Daphne Oz, and Erin Andrews as fans, "targets the muscles in your arms, thighs, seat and abs to the point of fatigue then stretches them for relief."

"Winter in Montauk is idyllic!" Eitches added. "In addition to Physique 57 classes, guests will enjoy spa facilities, aromatherapy and mediation workshops, and luxury dining options."

Gurney's Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa is located at 290 Old Montauk Highway in Montauk. For more information, visit physiqueretreat.com.
