With Halloween a few weeks away now is the perfect time to pick up a few pumpkins to get into the Halloween spirit and decorate your Hamptons house. Whether you want to make it a family fun day or pick one up from a local farm stand, here are the top seven spots to check out in the Hamptons.

Hank's Pumpkintown is a popular stop for families with u-pick pumpkins and apples, a corn maze, wagon rides, curly slides tractor train rides, a maze mountain slide, wooden play structures and pedal cart race tracks. Make sure you try their famous roasted sweet corn, baked fruit pies, cider donuts, cookies, freshly picked apples, candy apples, freshly, popped popcorn, or apple cider.

According to Lynne Kraszewski, co-owner of Hank's Pumpkintown, "This is our best pumpkin crop in 30 years." For tips on picking a pumpkin Lynn recommends choosing one with a thick green stem which is commonly referred to as the handle. She also recommends carry your pumpkin by the bottom rather than the stem because they break easily and Lynn joked, "Then you will end up pumpkin pie." Hank's Pumpkintown is open 7 days a week but the orchard and maze are only open on weekends and is located at 324 County Road 39 in Southampton.

Another u-pick option is The Milk Pail where you can pick your own apples and pumpkins. They also sell homemade Cider made with apples from their orchard, delicious cider doughnuts, squash, muffins, jams, honey, pancake mixes, pies, fudge and maple sugar candy, cookies and cheese. The Milk Pail is open every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. through the end of October and is located at 1346 Montauk Highway in Water Mill.

In Bridgehampton, stop by Fairview Farm for a u-pick pumpkin patch, corn maze, corn cannon, variety of fresh produce, gift shop, snacks and refreshment stand, and a kiddy favorite - farm animals. Fairview Farm is open Thursday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is located at 69 Horsemill Lane in Bridgehampton.

The Green Thumb Organic Farm, Halsey Farm Stand, Pike Farm and Balsam Farm are great options if you want to quickly pick up a pumpkin.

Along with pumpkins The Green Thumb Organic Farm offers a variety of home grown herbs, vegetables, fruits, and flower plants. They also offer shelf items, locally and artisinally made, including cheese from Mecox Bay Dairy and Catapano Dairy Farm, coffee roasted on the Shinnecock Indian Reservation, soap from Southampton Soap Co, and baked goods from Tate's and Junda's. The Green Thumb is located at 829 Montauk Highway in Water Mill.

Stop by Halsey Farm Stand for a variety of produce, pumpkins, cheeses, gourds, fruits, flowers, breads, and baked goods. Halsey Farm Stand is located at 513 Deerfield Road in Water Mill.

Pike Farms sells an array of produce, pumpkins, Tate's Cookies, bread and pies from the Blue Duck Bakery, Rima's Salts, and Miss Amy's Jams. Pike Farms is located on Sagg Main Street in Sagaponack,

Balsam Farms sells fresh produce, their own delicious pickles, pestos, dilly beans, tomato sauce, corn relish, strawberry jam, Blue Duck Bakery breads and pies, Foster Farms potato chips, Bees Needs honey, Villa Italian Specialties fresh mozzarella, and Joe and Liza's (Bay Burger in Sag Harbor) ice cream. Balsam Farms is located at the intersection of Windmill Lane and Town Lane in Amagansett. They are open daily from 9 a.m. 6 p.m. through October 31 and open on weekends November 1 through Thanksgiving.

Now that you know where to get your pumpkin, all you have to do is pick one up and have fun decorating it.
