On Sunday, September 11th, the Amagansett Food Institute (AFI) is hosting a Wellness Weekend at the Amagansett Farmers Market. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., a series of discussions, demonstrations, and tasting focused on wellness, nutrition, and rejuvenation will occur.
"After indulging over the summer, fall is a great time to refocus our eating habits," said Kathleen Masters, AFI's Executive Director. "Part of AFI's mission is to encourage healthy eating through local and seasonal options available while also promoting local businesses that support local health and wellness."
Several East End-based organizations and businesses are spearheading the day-long health movement.

), Zoe Klein, for a discussion on healthy eating for families from 2 to 4 p.m. The goal of this conversation is to educate both children and adults as to what exactly "healthy eating" is and how to improve their wellness. This lecture will cover everything related to a healthy lifestyle - from optimal nutrition to exercise and stress management using the latest scientific information. You will also be able to hear about the Wellness Foundation's three primary programs: W Kids: Healthy Food for Life, a school-based program that operates in public schools and encourages families to start healthy habits early; the Foundation's six-week Wellness Challenge for adults to kickstart their healthy lifestyle; and the Wellness Zone, a program that was created to build a network to support people interested in pursuing a healthy lifestyle.
Hamptons Just Healthy (www.hamptonsjusthealthy.com
), the East End's health food delivery service, will be making an appearance in the early afternoon for a cooking demonstration and meal tasting. The company cooks Paleo, Vegan and Alkaline meals and delivers them right to your home. The company's goal is to make wholesome meals available to people with limited kitchen time or experience.

Parcher, Founder and Director of Mandala Yoga
Center for Healing Arts of Amagansett (www.mandalayoga.com
), will briefly introduce essential oils and meditation to attendees. Mandala Yoga Center is open for workshops, classes, healing arts and a variety of other programs.
Hamptons Wellness on Wheels (www.hamptonswellnessonwheels.com
), the Hamptons' mobile wellness information center, will be on-site all day providing personal training and health coaching assessments, stretch mobility tests, and a doTERRA hand aroma touch technique. Much like the mission of this Wellness Weekend event, Hamptons Wellness on Wheels aims to provide "a holistic and active approach to increase overall wellbeing and happiness."
Admission to this exciting event is free, but a donation of $5 per person is suggested.
