- This summer Lululemon Athletica
's East Hampton store is offering free daily workouts. The athletic apparel company has classes Monday through Sunday ranging from surfer yoga to Physique 57
to Morning Meditation.
One of the trainers who will be teaching weekly classes is Melissa Paris, a NYC based personal trainer and group exercise motivator. Melissa who is a big fan of the company has been a Lululemon ambassador since last Septemeber. Becoming an ambassador made sense for her and her brand and it has been a wonderful natural progression. Ambassadors are community leaders who bring the community together through events and classes. She enjoys meeting and motivating people at the events and thinks its fun taking classes with other community members while bonding by sweating together.
Melissa specializes in bodyweight training classes that you can do anywhere. On Wednesdays, at the East Hampton Lululemon store, you can take her Bodyweight Bootcamp class which according to Melissa will leave you energized and refreshed and is the perfect way to detox after a weekend binge.
Her Bodyweight Bootcamp is a unique class that uses strictly body weight to get your heart rate up, burn calories, and strengthen your muscles in one shot. During the class expect lots of squat trusts, variety of push-ups, wall sits, and planks, while learning how to rely exclusively on your own body weight to gain muscle.
For Melissa the most important aspect of exercising is your form while performing the exercise. She says it is better to do fewer repetitions and have perfect form than to do a lot of repetitions with bad form. She wants people in her class to work at their own pace and make sure they pay attention to their form instead of trying to keep up with the person next to them.
Melissa alters the class to the crowd and gives options on difficulty level on many of the exercises during the class depending on the fitness level of those taking the class. She says it is important to listen to your body and go at your own pace.
After taking the class she hopes that people feel really good about themselves and like they have accomplished something. She wants people to be the best they can. During the class Melissa seems to know the right moments to encourage you and afterwards you will be a bit sore but definitely feel refreshed.

Jimmy Minardi at 6:00 p.m., Fridays are Pilates with Ericka Bloom at 9 a.m., Saturdays are Physique 57 with Mereditch Shumway at 8:30 and Surfer Yoga with Coach Jimmy Minardi at 12 p.m. and Sundays are Vinyasa Yoga for all levels with Kama Deva
at 10 a.m.
