(I-Montauk) attended the Grand Opening Celebration of Lucia's Room at the Southampton Hospital
Lucia's Angels was created in loving memory of Lucia Terzi Bagan
. It was Lucia's wish that women and their families could have support through their toughest times that is why Lucia's Angels is committed to helping women and families on Eastern Long Island with late-stage women's cancers including breast cancer, ovarian cancer, cervical cancer and uterine cancer.
A comfort and caring room, Lucia's Room was constructed at Southampton Hospital. The room is decorated and equipped with all that is needed to create a peaceful and serene atmosphere for patients and their visitors. Lucia's Room will primarily be used by breast cancer patients that are going through difficult surgeries, palliative care patients and/or end-of-life services. The hospital's fee for the room will be no more than the least expensive double patient room.
"I would like to extend my congratulations, appreciation and best wishes to Lucia's Angels and Southampton Hospital on their Grand Opening Celebration for Lucia's Room," stated Legislator Schneiderman.
