Southampton - Elected officials and representatives of the hospitals of The East End Health Alliance (Eastern Long Island Hospital,
Peconic Bay Medical Center and
Southampton Hospital) met recently to update each other on various issues regarding the delivery of healthcare to the East End.
Healthcare budget updates were provided by Congressman
Tim Bishop, Senator
Ken LaValle, and Assemblyman
Fred Thiele. Hospital CEOs,
Robert S. Chaloner (SH),
Paul J. Connor, III, (ELIH), and
Andrew J. Mitchell (PBMC) provided updates and insight on a number of relevant subjects including managed care, state and federal budget impacts on healthcare, health information technology, and healthcare reform. Representatives from most East End townships and incorporated villages were in attendance.
