Montauk - Luxury women's wear brand Minnie Rose has opened their first pop up shop at new hotel The Montauk Beach House. The brand is a favorite among celebs like Denise Richards, Miley Cyrus, Cameron Diaz, Christina Aguilera and the Duchess herself, Kate Middleton. The pop up shop will showcase their 2012 summer capsule collection which features cover ups, crochet shorts and maxi dresses in perfect brights and prints for the summer season.

Minnie Rose designer Lisa Shaller-Goldberg chose Montauk for their first pop up shop because she finds Montauk laid back, unpretentious, yet going through a re-gentrification, which she finds interesting, challenging and inspirational. She refers to the store as a garden shed /beach shack that is stocked with a rainbow of vibrantly colored cashmere, cottons, crochet pieces, jewelry from local artisans and a bathing suit collaboration with Kandice Peletier, who was Miss New York 2005.

Lisa gets inspiration for the Minnie Rose collection from the need she has to fill the voids from key items which are missing from her wardrobe. Once one trend is over, there is a need to replace it and fill the void. She started Minnie Rose with the hopes of producing easy, comfortable clothes which you can wear from day to night, casual to dressy, with something for any occasion. While wearing Minnie Rose you look put together and sexy, yet more luxurious and more grown up.

Some of her favorite pieces from the summer collection are the crochet shorts, crochet and fringe tops and dusters, and she cannot get enough of her crochet floppy sun hat which is so boho chic 1970's. Every season, she tries to always pop the collection with space dyes, jaquards, stripes, intarsias, and she loves working with exciting trims like fringe, ruffles, fur, and sequins.

For Lisa the design process is intense, starting with a panic stricken phone call to her friend Jonathan Bod at OPR to make sure she has bought all of the latest trend books. This is followed by purchasing trend books from Sharon Gray at Woolworks, trend books from international newsstands, researching runway shows on style.com and meeting with knitwear sample salesmen to purchase knitdowns. Most of the time she decides nothing she has read, seen, or bought is of any helpful, so she tosses it all and goes with what's in her head.

The future for the Minnie Rose brand includes bringing back their kids line, which was inspired by Lisa's new baby girl. She also plans to venture into bags, shoes, and a home collection. She would also love to bring back MR by Minnie Rose the men's collection, Miss Minnie Rose preteen collection, and one of her favorites, Miniature Minnie Rose dog collection. Lisa loves designing and says she could design every category 24 hrs a day.

Minnie Rose is available at The Montauk Beach House ( 55 South Elmwood Ave, Montauk, thembh.com). For more information on Minnie Rose visit ( www.minnierose.com ).
