The label, an expressive image of a Calla Lily flower titled Crowborough #4, comes from Schatz's collection of flower photographs published in his most recent book Botanica. The image will adorn a limited release of the wine (350 cases only) perfect for art and wine aficionados. The 2005 Gewürztraminer will be available for $25 per 750ml bottle beginning Memorial Day 2006 just in time to kick off the summer season and celebrations.

"The Corey Creek Vineyards Gewürztraminer has won Best Gewürztraminer in New York State for three years in a row we are exceptionally proud of this fine wine and decided to honor the new vintage with a specially designed label," said Michael Lynne, owner. "Howard Schatz has created beautiful imagery that reveals new depth and character in familiar objects including flowers. We thought his moving and expressive image of the Calla Lily with its intense expression of color, line and shape was a fitting and exciting way to celebrate the 2005 vintage Corey Creek Vineyards Gewürztraminer."

Howard Schatz, whose fine art work has been exhibited in many international museums and galleries, is best known for his photographs of dancers, athletes, and underwater subjects. He has published 15 books to date and his images have been displayed in Time, Sports Illustrated, The New York Times, Vogue, Life, and People Magazine among others. In 2005 he received the Professional Photographer of the Year Award at the International Photography Awards recognizing him for the diversity of his subjects and his international exhibits. Mr. Schatz lives and works in New York City with his wife and business partner Beverly Ornstein.

An ardent wine enthusiast, Michael Lynne is an avid art collector who has previously merged these two passions at Bedell Cellars where he instituted an artist series of wines, inaugurated by a watercolor image designed by Eric Fischl and followed up with a new wine introduction titled Taste, with imagery by Barbara Kruger. At Bedell Cellars, Lynne has installed works from his private collection in the Tasting Room for visitors to view and enjoy. The collection features the works of renowned artists such as Sam Taylor-Wood, Cindy Sherman, Uta Barth, and Sarah Morris.

Corey Creek Vineyards 2005 Gewürztraminer is elegantly balanced with bold and focused flavors of persimmon and litchi – classic Gewurztraminer character. The wine will be available beginning Memorial Day 2006 and can be purchased directly from the winery as well as at fine wine stores in New York City and The Hamptons. Half the total production of this wine will be pre-sold to Bedell's Wine Club Members and top restaurant accounts.
