Top Ten Cocktails To Celebrate Labor Day Weekend In The Hamptons

The end of summer is here but there is one more weekend, so make it a good one and celebrate summer with the top ten cocktails for Labor Day weekend.

1. Monumental Margarita: For those looking for a monumental weekend

 • 1.5 oz. Blanco Tequila
 • 1 oz. Cointreau
 • .5 oz. Lemon Juice
 • .5 oz. Lime Juice
 • 3 Basil leaves

Directions: Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass and add ice. Shake and strain over ice in a rocks glass.

2. South Side: If you are enjoying Labor Day Weekend at The Maidstone in East Hampton make sure you order one of these delicious drinks.

 • 1.5 oz. Purity Vodka
 • 2 oz. Fresh lime juice
 • .5 oz. Simple syrup
 • Fresh mint sprigs

Directions: Shake vigorously in a mixing glass; strain. Add additional sprig for garnish.

3. Portón Punch: This punch is perfect for those of you who will be throwing a party over the holiday weekend.

 • 1- 750 ml Bottle of Portón
 • 1/2 Pint of simple syrup
 • 1 Pint of distilled water
 • 3/4 Pint of lemon juice
 • 1 Fresh pineapple

Directions: Cut a fresh pineapple in squares about 1/2 by 1 1/2 inches. Put these squares of fresh pineapple in a bowl of simple syrup to soak overnight. In the morning, mix the rest of the ingredients in a big bowl. Use 3 or 4 oz. of punch per glass adding a square of the soaked pineapple to each. Lemon juice or simple syrup may be added to taste. Serve very cold.

4. Skinny Summer Peach Tea: If you are counting your calories try one of these.

 • 2 oz. Van Gogh Cool Peach Vodka
 • 4 oz. Numi's Ready-to-Drink Peach Puerh Tea
 • 1 Packet Equal

Directions:Combine ingredients and shake vigorously in shaker with ice. Pour into glass and enjoy. Alternatively, combine the ingredients in a glass with ice and stir vigorously.Serve with a peach wedge or without garnish.
* Equal may be substituted with 1 teaspoon sugar or one scant teaspoon of agave syrup.

5. Avión Creamsicle Shake: Soon it will be too cold to eat ice cream, so take advantage of the warm weather while it is here with this cocktail.

 • 1 ¼ Parts Tequila Avión Silver
 • 3 Parts Orange juice
 • 1 Part Sweet and sour mix
 • 1 Scoop Vanilla ice cream
 • 6-8 Ice cubes
 • Orange wheel for garnish

Directions: Combine all ingredients in blender. Garnish with orange wheel.

6. Fall Meets Summer Punch: Another good option if you are entertaining this weekend, this punch works for summer or fall.

 • 2 1/2 Cups Martini Asti
 • 2 Cups Martini Rosato
 • 1 1/2 Cup Pomegranate juice
 • 3/4 Cup Club soda
 • 3/4 Cup Fresh lemon juice
 • 1/2 Cup Simple syrup

Directions:In a large, punch bowl, stir together chilled Martini Rosato, pomegranate juice, club soda, lemon juice and simple syrup. Serve in tumblers filled withice, top with Martini Asti and gently mix in Martini Asti to punch bowl. Garnish each glass with a lemon wheel and star anise.

7. Martini Asti Red Rush: This sweet cocktail is the perfect way to finish summer.

 • 4 Parts Martini Asti (chilled)
 • ½ Part Strawberry puree
 • ½ Part Rose syrup

Directions:Pour puree and rose syrup into a flute glass and mix well. Top with Martini Asti. Garnish with a strawberry slice.

8. Mochaccino Meltdown: Make sure you are energized for the weekend with one of these.

 • ½ of Ice
 • 10 oz. Blood Orange Infused Vodka
 • 1/6 oz. Simple Syrup
 • ½ Can of illy issimo Mochaccino

Directions: Fill the cocktail shaker with ½ of ice. Add vodka, simple syrup, and illy issimo mochaccino and shake hard with ice. Pour into glass and strain the ice. Garnish with a slice of orange.

9. Vida Icebreaker: Because who doesn't want a drink that has a rock candy garnish.

 • 1 oz. Vida Reposado
 • 1 oz. Blue Curacao
 • 1 oz. Club Soda
 • Rock Candy

Directions: Serve chilled garnished with a piece of rock candy.

10. Ginger Island: This refreshing cocktail is the perfect way to end the summer.

 • 2 oz. Atlantico Reserva
 • 5 oz. Ginger beer
 • .5 oz. Fresh lime juice
 • Drop of vanilla extract.

Directions: Serve chilled garnished with lime.
