Montauk is beloved for its incredible views of “The End.” If we can’t travel far yet, we may as well take advantage of the beautiful scenery around us here at home. La Fin Kitchen & Lounge, Montauk’s newest eatery, embraces one of the most gorgeous emerald seaside settings in the world. The Kitchen & Lounge will offer all-day dining in a refined, relaxed environment starting Wednesday, May 5.
The setting has been inspired by the legendary St. Barth’s and St. Tropez, all while embracing the oceanfront beauty of Montauk. Guests can lounge, drink, and dine seasonal, farm-to-table French inspired cuisine. La Fin is working with more than 20 local purveyors, offering an incredible menu of seasonal ingredients, delicate homegrown herbs, and sustainably caught fish and responsibly sourced meats.
Executive Chef James Tchinnis will share his exceptional and professionally trained taste with diners. He has trained and worked at some of the top restaurants in New York City, including Le Cirque, The Grand Havana Room, and Osteria del Circo.
“I’m so excited for our guests to dine at La Fin,” said Executive Chef James Tchinnis. “The menu will reflect the seasonality of the local produce and the amazing fresh seafood at our back door. To me, French is the backbone of all modern cooking, and it is how I learned to cook professionally. The idea that French cuisine is all heavy sauces and tons of butter is just not true. At La Fin, we’ll focus on proper technique of cooking with light, fresh ingredients, like our fluke crudo with blood orange, radish, tomato and chili oil, or our salad niçoise with rare yellowfin tuna, haricot vert, olives, potato and Dijon vinaigrette.”
La Fin is an all-day destination for visitors to “The End.” The restaurant will be open from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. for morning selections of cold pressed juices and gluten free baked goods. From 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. a Recovery Brunch will feature delectable crepes, lobster lettuce wraps and salad niçoise. Dinner service begin at 5:00 p.m. with fresh caught local seafood, such as swordfish or mahi mahi, summer ratatouille, and steak frites.
The spacious floor plan of La Fin features a muted color scheme of blush and emerald green and art installation by local artists. There are more than 80 bottles on the wine list and guests can relax in the lounge with DJ vibes that carry out into the idyllic Atlantic Ocean on Tuesday evenings.
If you want to take the vibes of La Fin with you, consider reserving a packed picnic that serves ten. La Fin is ready to accommodate all party sizes and occasions. Reservations can be made through Open Table.
“We’re thrilled to offer a new seaside, farm-to-table experience that will transport guests to a world of delicious food and beautiful surroundings,” said Co-Owner Michelle Walrath. “The beauty of Montauk is in its simplicity, inclusiveness, and dramatic sunsets, and we aim to capture this while offering all day dining, with something for everyone, and a rotation of sophisticated DJs and live music. At La Fin, friends and family can gather, dine and lounge while enjoying exceptional hospitality with gorgeous views of the sea.”
