Small businesses around the globe are stepping up to support those who are battling the COVID-19 pandemic. The local Hamptons community has also participated in a number of initiatives, including StayMarquis, a full-service vacation rental company. They have given back to those on the frontline by enlisting the help of Honest Plate. Healthy, organic, chef-prepared meals have been delivered to the doors of Police and Fire Departments across the East End.
“We are so pleased with all of our owners and guests that participated in helping us donate over 200 meals to our first responders. Partnering with Honest Plate was a logical move as it allowed us to support a local, small business, while also serving the local community,” said StayMarquis Co-Founder, Alex Goldstein.
StayMarquis has pledged a donation of 150 meals themselves and in addition, they have set up a platform on their website where customers can donate meals for $15. To date, a total of 204 meals have been delivered to departments from Riverhead to Montauk.
Co-Founders Bryan Fedner and Alex Goldstein both have family members in law enforcement which is why this initiative is so important to them. They want to uplift the individuals who have put their health and safety at risk every day for the sake of others. Honest Plate was intentionally chosen as the company uses local ingredients and the dishes will stay fresh.
“It was really important for us to give back to the community that gives us so much. Our first responders are out there truly risking their lives to keep us safe, and this was just a small way of us expressing our appreciation and saying ‘thanks’,” said StayMarquis Co-Founder, Bryan Fedner.
