After being a Main Street staple for more than ten years, Indian Wells Tavern
in Amagansett is closing its doors.
The team behind Highway Restaurant & Bar in Wainscott, which is part of the TOMS
Hospitality portfolio, has acquired the space and will open its second East End outpost there. "We are excited to be taking on another endeavor out East and provide the quality food and service we've been known for the past five years at Highway," relayed the Highway team. "It is especially important for us to build our tavern as a staple for the community who live locally and those who visit throughout the year, just as our friends Kevin and Chris have successfully done in that cherished space for over a decade."
Indian Wells Tavern owners, Kevin Boles
and Chris Egger, will retain management until Monday, March 2. Boles and Egger also own Bostwick's Chowder House
and Bostwick's On The Harbor.
Before opening the new location, the Highway Restaurant & Bar team will refresh the restaurant's decor. The new owner plans on keeping the eatery a Tavern style bar and restaurant. The menu, which will utilize fresh ingredients, will pay homage to many local favorites.
Expected updates include an expanded cocktail program and beverage options that boast draft beer varieties, as well as a myriad of affordable wines and spirits.
While there is no official relaunch date yet, the new Tavern is expected to be open in early summer 2020.
In addition to Highway Restaurant & Bar, the TOMS Hospitality portfolio includes Eleven Madison Park
, NoMad Hotel Restaurant and Bar, Loring Place, Charlie Bird, Shuko and Pasquale Jones.
