Many of Montauk’s most beloved eateries, as well as several East End wineries and craft breweries are coming together on Sunday, July 28 to highlight their specialties during the Montauk Chamber of Commerce’s seventh annual Taste of Montauk.
“Montauk is a foodie destination that has earned a lot of attention in recent years,” reflected Laraine Creegan, the Chamber’s executive director. “For instance, Travel & Leisure in a 2018 article A Food Lover’s Guide to Montauk, wrote, ‘Montauk is far from remote, boasting a patchwork of top-notch restaurants, bars, bistros, and coffee shops.'”
This year’s gathering will take place on the Great Lawn at Gurney’s Star Island Resort and Marina from 6 to 9 p.m.
“We are thrilled to partner once again with the Montauk Chamber of Commerce to host the 7th annual Taste of Montauk at our newest property, Gurney’s Star Island Resort & Marina,” expressed Michael Nenner, the Area General Manager for Gurney’s Resorts. “From local craft beers to Long Island wines to delicious bites from Montauk restaurants, the event will bring together the community’s best food and beverage offerings in a collaborative environment set against the backdrop of the largest marina in the Hamptons.”
Participating eateries will include 668 The Gig Shack, Backyard at Sole East, Montauk Circle Burger, Gurney’s Montauk, Gurney’s Star Island Resort and Marina, Montauk Shellfish, Ruschmeyer’s Montauk, Gin Beach Café, Duryea’s Lobster Deck, tt’s Montauk, Muse@ the End, Tauk at Trail’s End, Montauk Bake Shoppe, and Swallow East, while featured wineries and breweries include Duck Walk, Pindar, Martha Clara Vineyards, Osprey’s Dominion, Cliffton Dry Sparkling Wine-Style Cider, Montauk Wine Company, and Montauk Brewing Co.
“We are thrilled to be part of a Taste of Montauk again this year,” Vaughan Cutillo, Montauk Brewing Company Co-Founder, shared. “Montauk Brewing Company will be featuring their flagship style, Wave Chaser IPA along with the summer favorite Montauk Summer Ale as well as Watermelon Session and the brand new Montauk Pilsner.”
In addition to the sumptuous bites and sips, there will be live music provided by Mike Ficco Jazz Quartet.
“We look forward to participating in this event each year,” Dave Ceva, Solé East Owner, reflected. “It’s a great local event highlighting the best that Montauk has to offer with both food and beverages. And it supports the local Montauk Chamber! We look forward to a fun evening.”
“This event always showcases the best food and beverage the East End has to offer and we are honored to be there,” Cutillo added.
Tickets to Taste of Montauk are $85 in advance, and $95 at the door. Proceeds support the Montauk Chamber and its continuing initiatives for the community.
“Montauk has been attracting top restaurateurs and chefs including outstanding home-grown ones who love to work in our hamlet,” Creegan concluded.
