If the recent arctic chill has made you want to hibernate, it's time to layer up and leave the house because Long Island Restaurant Week is presenting its third annual winter campaign starting Sunday, January 27.

"With a sluggish economy and the onset of winter - as well as such a great response to Fall Restaurant Week from both diners and restaurateurs - we decided to do something about 'Cabin Fever,'" Steve Haweeli, President of Long Island Restaurant & Marketing Hospitality Group - the business-to-consumer promotions division of WordHampton Public Relations and forces behind Long Island Restaurant Week, relayed. "It's expected that the third annual campaign this winter will have well over 120 participants."

On the East End, you will have over 15 options. In the Hamptons, drop by 1 North Steakhouse, Centro Trattoria & Bar, and Sunday's on the Bay Restaurant in Hampton Bays, Bistro Ete in Water Mill, Le Charlot in Southampton, Elaia Estiatorio and Jean Georges at Topping Rose House in Bridgehampton, and Lulu Kitchen and Bar and Page at 63 Main in Sag Harbor to take advantage of the spectacular special.

"This is our 2nd year participating in Winter Restaurant Week," Steven Jauffrineau, Lulu Kitchen & Bar Managing Director, noted. "We look forward to welcoming new diners who may not have visited Lulu during the promotion. We have a delicious menu planned highlighting our signature wood burning grill."

North Fork participants include Farm Country Kitchen and The Preston House & Hotel in Riverhead, Jamesport Manor Inn in Jamesport, aMano in Mattituck, Legends in New Suffolk, Touch of Venice Restaurant in Cutchogue, and The North Fork Table & Inn in Southold. Additionally, Cooperage Inn in Baiting Hollow, La Plage in Wading River, and Stone Creek Inn in East Quogue will be offering the dining deal.

"Restaurant Week is always a wonderful flurry of activity during what's typically a quiet time of the year," Claudia Fleming, The North Fork Table & Inn Owner and Pastry Chef, shared. "The great value that it offers gives guests a great reason to get out and have a wonderful meal here, particularly if they haven't been here before. We're always grateful and happy to welcome them!"

During the tri-annual promotion, which runs through Sunday, February 3, participating eateries will present a three-course dinner prix fixe for just $29.95 - all night, every night they are open, with the exception of Saturday when the menu might be offered only until 7 p.m. Diners will have a minimum choice of three appetizers, three entrées and three desserts.

"With more than 2.8 million residents and 1,000 restaurants with varied cuisines, concepts and price points, it is no wonder why we started the highly anticipated Long Island Restaurant Week which continues to flourish," Haweeli added.
