Bridgehampton's Almond will present its latest Artists & Writers Night on Wednesday, November 2nd at 7 p.m. Artist Alice Hope will host the evening, which will feature a family style, delicious three-course menu created by executive chef Jason Weiner.
Hope holds an M.F.A from Yale University. She has shown since the late 1980s, and last spring had a solo show at Ricco Maresca Gallery in New York City. She has created numerous public and residential commissions including a large-scale work, Under the Radar, at Camp Hero State Park in Montauk, New York for the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill. Hope was commissioned by the 2013 Armory Show Project to create two public works: one panel repeats the binary code for love and the other is based on the binary code for blind. She also worked at the WNYC Greene Space artist-in-residence program through 2014.
"I have always been inspired by Alice's process, her doggedness and determination - there is such mystery in her work that I was thrilled that she accepted the invitation to host so that we may peak behind the curtain with her," remarked artist Almond Zigmund, who is married to Weiner.
Almond joined the Hamptons restaurant scene in spring 2001. It's known as an affordable French bistro and has quickly climbed the Hamptons restaurant ranks. "Almond has brought French bistro to the Hamptons," stated Joanne Starkey of the New York Times.
Tickets to Artists & Writers Night are $45, which includes a glass of local wine or craft beer (gratuity and tax is not included).
Almond is located at 1 Ocean Road in Bridgehampton. For more information, contact 631-537-5665 or visit www.almondrestaurant.com. To learn more about Alice Hope, visit alicehope.com.
